Palma police investigate alleged unpaid bar bill
Palma Local Police are investigating a 46-year-old man and his 18-year-old son over an alleged €46 unpaid bar bill in the Rafal district of Palma, Mallorca. Officers were called at about 4pm last Saturday after the venue’s owner reported that the pair had left its terrace without paying.
The owner told police he had followed the men at a safe distance along Aragón Street. A patrol from the Integral Security Unit located the owner and identified the two suspects a few metres away.
Both men denied eating or drinking at the café, police said. The owner then showed officers mobile-phone footage from the premises’ security cameras which allegedly showed them having the daily menu and several drinks.
A member of staff and a customer told officers that each man had eaten a plate of paella and had several beers before leaving without paying the €46 bill. The owner later formally filed a complaint and provided the unpaid bill.
Police said a criminal report was opened and the documentation was sent by its records unit to the duty investigating section of the Court of First Instance.
