Marratxí welcome guide opens doors in three languages

New residents in Marratxí can now find local services and key contacts in a welcome guide published by the council on 27 August. The guide is available in Catalan, Spanish and English, both in print and on the municipal website. It is intended to make the move to the municipality easier.

From schools to waste collection

The guide brings together information on education, sport, culture, health and transport. It also covers services for older people and young people, the environment, social services, waste management, safety, jobs and starting a business.

It lists municipal markets and the council’s communication channels. Newcomers can also find details of the Citizen Service Offices, alongside a directory of other offices and useful telephone numbers.

Ceramics and local identity

Marratxí’s pottery tradition also has a place in the guide. It points readers towards the Museu del Fang, the Pilar Sastre Municipal Ceramics School, the Ceramics Biennial and the Ruta del Fang.

Mayor Jaume Llompart said the aim was for people arriving in Marratxí to know from their first day what the municipality offers and to feel part of it. Marratxí is growing, he said, while seeking to retain its identity, closeness and character as a “village of villages”.
