The patrol had stopped at a red light on Joan Maragall street when the bottle came through the window of the car beside it, Palma Local Police said. Officers picked up the bottle and spoke to the Colombian driver, who showed clear signs of having drunk alcohol.

His breath test result was 0.95 mg/l, nearly four times the permitted administrative limit and above the criminal threshold, according to police. He has been named as an investigated person but was not arrested. The car was towed to the municipal depot.
