58 Calvià students complete council work placements
Fifty-eight students and recent graduates in Calvià, Mallorca, have completed work placements for the 2025-2026 academic year. They worked in municipal departments and with private firms taking part in the scheme. Calvià Town Hall said the placements were tailored to each participant’s stage of education.
The group ranged from second-year Bachillerato pupils to university graduates and students on intermediate and higher vocational courses. Their subjects included business administration, architecture, sport and physical activity sciences, law, web application development, infant and primary education, journalism, psychology, social work and tourism.
The programme ran through four routes. BECAlvià placed 30 students this summer, in July and August, with each receiving 525 euros a month. Participating private firms funded half of that payment.
Projecta't supported 16 recent graduates for ten months in local government departments. Their placements also included seven months of specialist cross-disciplinary training.
Get Experience involved four final-year university and vocational training students. The scheme also included the Socioeducational Grant.
