Weather in S Horta

Today's weather in S'Horta
The temperature in S'Horta is 33°C, feeling like 38.3°C; the sky is sunny, the wind is a pleasantly light 9 km/h and the chance of precipitation is only 4%. S'Horta is showing its hot, summery side today.
During the day it will remain largely sunny and dry, with the strong sunshine causing the high felt heat. A light breeze gives some air movement but doesn't replace the need for shade. If you're outdoors, plan regular drinks and sun protection, especially during the hottest hours. In the evening it cools down slowly, making activities more pleasant then.
Perfect for a beach day
In this weather in S'Horta, an early trip to the beach or a dip in the water in the late afternoon, when the sun is milder, is ideal. Alternatively, a shady café or a relaxed walk along the coast is a good way to avoid the worst of the heat. For boat trips: bring plenty of water and be sure to use sun protection.
S'Horta tomorrow: again sunny at around 28.7°C.

Climate in S'Horta — Southeast Mallorca at 250 Meters
S'Horta is a traditional village in the southeast of Mallorca, located in the municipality of Felanitx at around 250 meters above sea level. This elevation is unusual for a place so close to the southeast coast, and it shapes the local climate: S'Horta is more sheltered from the wind than the coast itself, noticeably cooler in summer than at the beach, and on clear winter nights somewhat colder than coastal areas.
Rainfall in the southeast is moderate: according to aggregator climate data from the Felanitx station, the annual average is around 508 mm — slightly more than the 449 mm AEMET records for Palma, but considerably less than on the north coast or in areas influenced by the Tramuntana. November is the wettest month at around 90 mm; in July, barely around 7 mm of rain falls.
Summers are warm: daily highs in July reach around 30°C according to aggregator climate data, with daily averages around 25°C. The 250 m elevation does mean that nights are somewhat cooler than on the immediately adjacent coast — a definite advantage for anyone who wants a good night's sleep. During the day, solar radiation on the southeast-facing slopes is intense.
The region's beaches (Cala d'Or, Portocolom) are roughly 8 to 10 km away. There, the typical water temperatures of the southeast coast apply: around 25°C in July, around 27°C in August, and still around 23°C in October according to aggregator climate data. The village itself is too far inland to benefit directly from sea breezes — though the Vall d'Or gulf between the village and the coast provides open terrain.
Winters in S'Horta stay mild, but at 250 m elevation, frost nights are possible — rare, but more frequent than in the lowlands along the coast. The January daily average sits at around 12°C. Hiking in the hilly surroundings is particularly enjoyable from October through April.
The Mallorca Climate Chart provides a monthly overview of the entire island; the article on Mallorca Climate Zone explains the background.
Note: S'Horta has no AEMET climate normal station of its own. Values are drawn from aggregator climate data for the Felanitx station (approx. 5 km away, ~100 m lower in elevation). These figures should be treated as reference values; in S'Horta itself, summers are slightly cooler and winters slightly colder.
