Climate in Port d'Alcúdia — Harbor, Beach, and North Coast Wind
Port d'Alcúdia sits at the southern end of the Bahia de Pollença and the northern end of the Bahia d'Alcúdia — where two of Mallorca's largest bays nearly meet. Its direct coastal position makes the climate somewhat windier than the sheltered old town core of Alcúdia, though summer temperatures stay comfortable thanks to the sea breeze.
Rainfall follows the same pattern as across the wider Alcúdia municipality: according to aggregator climate data, the annual average is around 607 mm — well above the AEMET figure for Palma of roughly 470 mm. November is the wettest month, with about 89 mm. The orographic blocking effect of the Tramuntana drives more rain into the north of the island in autumn and winter.
Summers in Port d'Alcúdia are warm and dry. Daily highs in July reach around 32°C according to aggregator data, with a daily average of roughly 26°C. The Embat — the thermally driven afternoon breeze from the northeast — blows reliably in summer and noticeably cools the long stretch of beach. July sees barely around 11 mm of rain; summers are very dry.
Water temperatures in the bay follow the standard Balearic annual cycle: around 25°C in July and 26°C in August. Even in October the sea holds at about 23°C — by which point the season is already winding down and the beach grows quieter again.
In winter, the January daily average sits at around 11°C. Frost is rare. Port d'Alcúdia is less touristy in winter, but works well as a base for hiking on the Cap des Pinar peninsula or for exploring the old town.
More on the climate can be found at the Mallorca Climate Chart. The destination itself is covered in the Port d'Alcúdia Local Guide.
Note on data sources: Port d'Alcúdia has no dedicated climate station. Values are derived from the aggregator station Alcúdia (~4 km away) and should be treated as indicative.
