Mallorca museum teams plan exhibitions in 3D
Mallorca’s exhibition planners can test where works will go before setting up a display: 16 museum and cultural venue professionals took part in 3D planning sessions at La Misericòrdia Cultural Centre in Palma, Mallorca, on 8, 15 and 22 October 2026.
The Council of Mallorca organised the practical course in SketchUp, a 3D design program that creates virtual versions of rooms and structures. Participants learned to place works in a room and compare layouts before putting an exhibition together.
The group included people from the Museum of Mallorca, the Museum of Sacred Art and Inca Town Council. The council says the training can help staff plan displays more precisely and improve visitors’ experiences. It plans to offer more training for the island’s museum professionals.
