Menorca active tourism push targets year-round trips
Year-round trips are the goal: active and nature tourism firms meet at the Lazareto in Maó, Menorca, on 13 November to work out how to turn outdoor activities into experiences people can book. Menorca Activa is organising the second Menorca Activa Plus Natura seminar as part of its push to bring visitors to the island throughout the year.
The firms will look at how to sell those experiences and work with other businesses. Civitatis chief executive Andrés Spitzer will discuss what travellers want and how activities are marketed. Tourism consultant Pau Calero will lead a workshop on building more valuable offers from individual activities.
Biologist Alfonso Polvorinos will explore the link between nature and wellbeing, including how neuroscience might help businesses connect with visitors. Artificial intelligence specialist Antoni Febrer will give theoretical and practical training on its uses in tourism.
Menorca Activa will also honour Polaris Menorca and its founder, Javier Ares, for their work promoting astronomy and developing stargazing tourism on the island. The association points to their role in preparing for and publicising the total solar eclipse of 12 August. It says the eclipse showed the potential of astronomy to attract visitors.
