Ibiza seeks builder for up to 26 affordable rentals
Up to 26 affordable rental homes could take shape on a council-owned plot in Santa Eulària, Ibiza: the council is looking for a firm to build them and manage the lets. It opened bidding on Thursday, 5 November 2026. Firms have until 18.00 on 7 December 2026 to submit offers online through the Public Sector Contracting Platform.
The plot covers about 402 square metres and already has a building under construction, with a basement, ground floor and four upper floors. Each bidder must put forward two plans: one that keeps, uses or adapts the existing structure, and another that demolishes it and builds anew. Both need technical, planning and financial justification.
The winning design will determine the final number of homes. The tender sets 26 as the maximum and suggests a mix of 40 per cent one-bedroom homes, 40 per cent two-bedroom homes and 20 per cent with three or more bedrooms. That mix can change to suit the project.
The chosen firm will get the right to use the land for 75 years. It must complete the work within three years of construction actually starting, then manage and maintain the homes as limited-price rentals. The council will keep ownership of the land; the building will pass to it when the 75 years end.
