Mallorca hosts AI talks on spinal cord injuries
Spinal cord injury care takes centre stage in Palma, Mallorca, on Thursday, 22 October, as specialists from across Spain meet to discuss new research and the possible uses of artificial intelligence in clinics. The National Paraplegia Congress opens in the city, organised by the Spanish Society of Paraplegia and the Spanish Association of Nursing Specialised in Spinal Cord Injury.
The programme includes specialist nursing, hand surgery for people with tetraplegia and research into spinal cord injuries. Specialists also plan to present projects aimed at helping people regain physical function, live more independently and improve their wellbeing.
Sant Joan de Déu Hospital says its specialist unit provides care throughout patients’ rehabilitation. Its managing director, Jaume Morell, says sharing knowledge at the congress can help the hospital improve the care it gives patients.
