Mallorca air traffic controllers weigh 35-hour week
In Palma, Mallorca, air traffic controllers are weighing a 35-hour week as delegates meet to set their union’s priorities for next year. The Spanish Air Traffic Controllers’ Union (USCA) opened its 38th national congress on Tuesday, 3 November 2026. The meeting runs until Friday, the union said.
Delegates from different air traffic control units will discuss staffing, the capacity of the air navigation system and privately run control towers. Training, workplace safety and collective bargaining are also on the agenda. Union president Lola Moreno opened the congress on Tuesday.
The union will use the meeting to review its work in 2026 and decide what to focus on next year. On Friday, delegations are due to present proposals before votes and a closing session.
