30 care places: Alaior day centre gets go-ahead

A day centre in Alaior, Menorca, has been cleared to begin operating with 30 places for older people needing care. On Friday, 18 September, the Balearic Government approved the formal declaration allowing the centre to start activity. The building stands at the junction of Margalida Comas Camps and Sa Bassa Roja streets.
The government said the approval followed proof that construction had finished and that the building matched the project approved on 8 March 2024.
It has sent the decision to the Balearic Islands Consortium for Health, Social Care and Assistance Resources and Alaior Town Hall. The project was declared an investment of regional interest in November 2023.
