Alaior mayor race: PSOE picks Eduardo Robsy to run

The PSOE has chosen Eduardo Robsy as its candidate for mayor of Alaior, Menorca, at a party assembly on Saturday, 19 September. Robsy, now a member of the Menorca Island Council, says the town needs fresh ideas, dialogue and the ability to turn plans into results.

He is pitching management experience, agreement-building and cooperation as the centre of his campaign. Robsy says Alaior has a promising future, but argues it will need a committed team to achieve it.

He also targets the previous four terms led by the People’s Party, which he says have brought nearly 16 years of stagnation and a sustained decline in quality of life.

PSOE Alaior secretary general David Moll says Robsy offers an experienced alternative after what he calls years of “many photos and little management” at the town hall. The party says Robsy’s background could help move forward projects it says have been held up for too long.

The PSOE will now draw up its election list, with technical specialists and experienced candidates alongside a commitment to the political left.

Robsy is an economist and lawyer specialising in public housing policy. Alongside his Island Council role, he works as an auditor for Ferreries Town Hall. He previously led architecture and housing for the Balearic Government and was deputy head of the economic affairs and G20 office at Spain’s Moncloa government headquarters.
