Mallorca’s Alcúdia bullring could host bullfights in 2027 after a decade without bullfighting-related events. The Franz Weber Foundation warned on Monday, 19 October, that a company is trying to bring them back. It wants Alcúdia town council to say whether it will make the arena available.

According to the foundation, the company has spoken in pro-bullfighting media of plans to “revive” the arena next year. The foundation says the same company rented bullrings in Inca and Muro for sums it calls “derisory” and has organised bullfights there over the past two years.

The foundation suggests the possible 2027 return could be linked to an election pledge by PP, Vox or Unió per Alcúdia. It also wants the council to explain how the company’s plans fit with an announced transformation of the building. Whether the council will make the arena available for bullfights remains unclear.
