On the Spanish island of Mallorca, florists expect orders to triple around All Saints’ Day on Sunday, 1 November. A shop that takes about ten orders in a normal week could take roughly 30 during the holiday period.

Mercè Francia, president of the Association of Florists of Mallorca, told Europa Press on 29 October that trade could match or beat last year’s. Because the holiday falls on a Sunday, she expects sales to start earlier and customers to have more time to visit cemeteries. Regular customers are placing orders for these days, with more purchases expected on All Saints’ Day itself.

Francia said fewer people are visiting cemeteries as more choose cremation rather than burial. Families still buy flowers to remember those who have died, she said. The association is encouraging families to share those memories with younger generations and to use local florists.
