Mallorca’s 10th ALS charity run takes place on 10 October at the University of the Balearic Islands campus, raising money for an adjustable bed and a care hoist. The Balearic Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ELA Baleares) is organising RUN4ELA to draw attention to the disease. The run starts at the School of Hospitality building.

Participants can walk, run or take part as a family on the 2.5-kilometre route. A more demanding 5.7-kilometre route is also available. People who cannot attend can still make a donation without running.

The association says all proceeds will pay for the bed and hoist for families it supports. It says the equipment can make care easier and improve the quality of life and independence of people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
