Palma plans Music Park with 700 seats and 19,000 m² gardens

Palma, Mallorca, plans a Music Park in Nou Llevant with an amphitheatre for 700 people and more than 19,000 m² of gardens. The city unveiled the project on Tuesday, 22 September 2026. It also includes sports facilities, outdoor fitness areas and children’s play spaces.

The park is planned beside the Caja de la Música, which the Balearic Government is building. A central stage and large screen would show concerts outside, extending the music venue into the open air.

Mayor Jaime Martínez said the design was donated free of charge by the architectural studio of Jaime Obrador. The outdoor scheme began with an idea from Pablo Mielgo to bring music beyond the building.

Martínez said the project aims to make music and culture more accessible while building “territorial and social cohesion” in Palma. The city places it alongside work under way at Son Quint, the Falca Verda extension and the botanical garden project.

After the donation is formally accepted, Palma plans to draw up the detailed project in the coming months. It expects to include the final investment in its 2027 budget, put the works out to tender that year and start construction in 2028.

The Music Park forms part of Palma Culture and Innovation Bay, an initiative focused on culture, innovation and the blue economy.
