Andratx housing: 30 flats put locals first
An unfinished building in Sa Rectoria street in Andratx, Mallorca, is set to become 30 capped-price homes after the council granted a building licence. People who can show they have lived in Andratx for at least 10 years will get priority. Work is expected to start in the coming months, and some of the flats have already been allocated.
The project is backed by an agreement between Andratx Council and the private owner. Under the deal, the homes are intended exclusively for residents of the municipality.
Mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo said housing was one of residents’ main concerns. She said giving local people options must be a priority, so those living in Andratx have a real chance to secure a home and continue their lives there.
The council has also handed plots to the Govern for further capped-price housing projects, aiming to increase the local supply.
