Andratx mayor seeks new term as PP defends majority

Andratx, Mallorca: Mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo is seeking another term in May 2027, with the People’s Party (PP) aiming to keep its outright majority on the council. The party’s local board, which Gonzalvo chairs, backed her unanimously, the PP said on 26 October 2026. Members and supporters met at its Andratx headquarters after the decision.

Gonzalvo currently governs with an outright majority. The PP says it has improved public spaces, invested in council facilities and taken steps to add parking spaces in parts of the municipality.

The party is drawing up its election programme and plans more talks with associations, sports clubs and local groups to gather ideas for the next term. Gonzalvo thanked the board for its backing and said the needs of Andratx’s different communities would remain a priority. A formal presentation of her candidacy is still to come.
