Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands are putting a stand against bullying and racism on the pitch: captains of more than 2,000 youth football teams will wear armbands at their weekly matches this season. The Balearic Football Federation, LaLiga and EIVO handed over the armbands in Madrid on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, the Balearic Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport said.

The campaign is part of LaLiga VS, which aims to promote respect and tackle discrimination and violence in football. EIVO will also put messages about those aims into its broadcasts for families and fans.

Balearic tourism, culture and sport minister Jaume Bauzá said there was no place for racism, bullying or violence on football pitches. He said the armbands would help captains set an example of respect for children, young people and families, on and off the pitch.
