The woman contacted him on 6 July 2024 about appliances he had advertised on an online platform. She wanted him to buy and install them. He asked for €1,400 up front, saying he needed the money to buy the items she had chosen. Prosecutors say he bought none of them, installed nothing and did not return her money.

The prosecution is seeking six years in prison and €1,400 in compensation for the woman. It cites the man's three previous fraud convictions as an aggravating factor.
