The Balearic Islands’ Ara Més is in talks to join a left-wing election alliance: parties have until Friday to register coalitions for Spain’s general election. Gerardo Pisarello, co-spokesperson for the Comuns, confirmed the talks at a press conference in Madrid, Spain, on 13 October 2026. He said the alliance, Frente Amplio, is also speaking with Podemos, Compromís and Chunta Aragonesista.

A place for Ara Més on the joint ticket is not yet agreed. The Comuns, United Left (IU), Movimiento Sumar and Más Madrid have agreed to propose former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau as their candidate for prime minister. Colau has not yet responded. She has also been asked to draw up a joint candidacy for the four parties, with the registration deadline approaching.
