Ara Més gets 0.29% of RTVE election news blocks
Ara Més, the Balearic election label covering Mallorca, gets 0.29% of campaign news blocks in Spanish public broadcaster Radio Televisión Española’s (RTVE) proposed plan for the 29 November general election. Its candidates are due to appear in a run of TV interviews starting on Friday 13 November. The plan covers RTVE’s morning, midday and evening news, as well as La Hora de La 1.
How RTVE divides the coverage
RTVE proposes 38.96% of the campaign news blocks for the PP and 34.67% for the PSOE. Frente Amplio gets 6% and Podemos 0.86%. Both left-wing formations also receive shares from regional alliances, including the 0.29% allocated to Ara Més.
The broadcaster says each daily block will vary with the news. It will count each party’s airtime across the whole campaign, rather than day by day. RTVE has left its other current-affairs programmes, which also carry interviews and debates, outside this plan.
Interviews start with Ara Més and CC
Ara Més and CC are due to open the candidate interviews on La Hora de La 1 on Friday 13 November. RTVE plans to set interview lengths according to parliamentary representation. It also proposes three election debates, though their dates could change as talks with the parties continue.
Se Acabó la Fiesta (SALF), led by Luis ‘Alvise’ Pérez Fernández, gets no place in the campaign news blocks. It won three seats in the 2024 European election but fell short of the 5% national vote threshold used by the Central Electoral Commission to recognise a significant political group.
