Mallorca voters face a familiar name in Spain’s 29 November general election: Francina Armengol again leads the Socialist Party (PSOE) list for the Balearic Islands. The president of Spain’s Congress of Deputies also headed the list in July 2023. The PSOE presented its candidates on 1 November.

Across Spain, 22 of the party’s 52 lead candidates are staying in place. They include Javier Cendón and Manuel Arribas, two MPs formerly close to Santos Cerdán. The former senior PSOE official was removed from the party leadership and is under investigation over alleged kickbacks linked to public works contracts.

Cerdán’s former deputy Juanfran Serrano is also on a list again, though he moves from first to second place in Jaén. In Madrid, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez again heads the PSOE list.
