Ibiza ArtJove final offers €7,000 for new short film
Seven short films compete for prizes, including €7,000 to make a new film, when Ibiza’s ArtJove final takes over Baluard de Sant Pere in Dalt Vila on Friday, 25 September. The screenings begin at 20.15, and a jury will choose three winning works and decide how the prizes are shared. The Balearic Youth Institute, IBJove, runs the competition.
The seven finalists were made by people aged 16 to 35 who were born in the Balearics and/or live there. Their work ranges from video art and computer animation to documentary reports and fiction shorts.
Jury decides the winners
Actress Bárbara Hermosilla joins director, screenwriter and producer Lluís Ortas on the panel. Audiovisual professional Ruth T. Quintas, producer and television, film and digital-media executive Juan Carlos Martorell, and filmmaker Josep Alorda complete the jury.
Alorda won first prize in the ArtJove short film competition in 2024. IBJove director Tomàs Amer is also due to attend the evening.
The first-prize winner receives €3,000 in cash and €7,000 to fund a new short film. A further €3,000 is available for the second and third prizes, with the jury deciding how that sum is divided.
