Mallorca tops 2.1 million tourists in August
Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, draws more than 2.1 million tourists in August, up 2.47% on a year earlier. Figures released on Friday, 2 October, put the total across the islands at 3.1 million. They come from Spain’s National Statistics Institute and the Balearic Statistics Institute.
How the other islands compare
Of the Balearic Islands’ August tourists, 2.59 million came from abroad, up 2.56% on the previous year, while 571,447 came from elsewhere in Spain. The Pityusic Islands recorded 699,937 tourists, up 4.41%. Menorca’s total fell 2.28% to 359,222.
From January to August, the Balearic Islands received 14 million tourists. That included 11.7 million international tourists, 2% more than in the same period of 2025.
Spending rises as trips get shorter
International tourists spent 4,065 million euros across the Balearic Islands in August, up 4.17% on a year earlier. Average spending reached 1,566 euros per tourist and 243 euros per day.
The average trip lasted 6.44 days, down 7.71% on the previous August. Tourists spent more across the islands, but stayed for less time.
