Palma axe threat after loud music row ends in arrest
A Palma man has been arrested after allegedly threatening his neighbour with an axe during a row over loud music. National Police were called through 091 on Sunday afternoon after reports that a person carrying an axe was chasing another man. The victim said four men followed him into the entrance of his building.
The dispute began when a neighbour went outside to complain about the volume of music coming from a flat. The man in that flat then came downstairs, apparently to settle the matter and speak to him.
A short time later, the man from the flat went back towards his building entrance. Four people allegedly followed him, and he was unable to shut the door before they got inside.
One of the men was allegedly carrying an axe and told him: “I’m going to cut your head off.” The victim also said one of the group hit him in the face several times. He did not initially need medical treatment and told officers he intended to make a complaint.
Police later found the four men inside a flat. The victim and a witness gave a description matching one of them as the man who had carried the axe and made the threats. Officers arrested him on suspicion of making threats.
