Balearic boat registrations lead Spain despite October dip
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, is part of Spain’s leading province for new leisure boat registrations: the islands record 760 from January to October 2026. That is 15.6% of Spain’s total. But across the country, October registrations fall 17% from a year earlier to 231.
The figures come from industry association ANEN, using records from Spain’s Directorate-General for the Merchant Marine. Spain registers 4,873 leisure boats in the first ten months of the year, up 5.5% on the same period in 2025. Boats longer than 16 metres show the sharpest growth, with 71 registrations, up 54.3%.
The Balearic Islands also lead the market for boats registered for hire, with 364 — nearly a quarter of Spain’s total. Nationally, registrations in that market rise 7.5% to 1,471 over the ten months, despite a 14% fall in October. The island figures cover the whole Balearic group, not Mallorca alone.
