Palma, Mallorca: The Balearic Islands’ government approves a €7,160.88 million spending cap on Friday, 23 October 2026, but Vox says earlier budget deals remain unfulfilled. Vox parliamentary spokeswoman Manuela Cañadas says her party is ready to discuss the 2027 budget with the People’s Party (PP).

Economy, Finance and Innovation minister Antoni Costa plans to meet parliamentary groups next week to discuss the spending cap and the budget. He wants talks to stay on budget matters. Cañadas says commitments from previous budget negotiations have yet to be met, though Vox is still willing to talk.

Costa took the same approach to the 2025 spending cap and budget. Neither was approved.

MÉS per Mallorca parliamentary spokesman Lluís Apesteguia says his group will listen if Costa calls. But he says the two sides are far apart on tax and budget policy. Before MÉS could consider negotiations, he says, the PP would have to completely change a tax policy that he believes favours the rich.
