Balearic concrete output falls 8.7% as Spain's climbs
Mallorca is part of a regional split: ready-mixed concrete output across the Balearic Islands falls 8.7% in the second quarter of 2026, while Spain’s rises 8.1%. Spain produces 8.3 million cubic metres in the quarter. Figures from the Spanish National Association of Ready-Mixed Concrete Manufacturers (Anefhop), reported by Europa Press on 6 October, give no separate figure for Mallorca.
Across Spain, output grows 7.5% in the first half of 2026. Production over the past twelve months reaches 31.3 million cubic metres, its highest level in 15 years. Growth in the second quarter also outpaces the 6.8% recorded from January to March.
Plans for 72,056 new homes receive sign-off between January and June, up 21.4% on a year earlier. But Anefhop points to the Bank of Spain’s estimate of a 750,000-home shortfall between 2021 and 2025. It expects concrete output to grow by 3% to 5% in 2026, while warning that the result depends on how quickly planned projects become building work and demand for concrete.
