Palma, Mallorca: the Balearic government wants its annual general policy debate to begin on 20 October, but the PSIB says parliamentary groups were not told before the request was filed. Speaking in the corridors of the Balearic Parliament on Tuesday, 13 October, PSIB spokesman Iago Negueruela said Prohens had submitted the proposal that day without warning the groups.

Negueruela said group spokespeople had always been notified before and called the lack of notice discourteous. He said it suggested Prohens was reluctant to hold the debate.

The government had agreed on the proposed date the previous Friday, according to its request to parliament. Negueruela also criticised government spokesman Antoni Costa for not announcing it at the press conference after that meeting. He rejected any suggestion that the PSIB would be less prepared for the debate.
