Balearic Islands economy grows 2.5%, trails Spain
The Balearic Islands’ economy grows 2.5% in 2025, just behind Spain’s 2.6% rate. The Spanish National Statistics Institute publishes the figures on Wednesday, 30 September. Economic output per person in the islands reaches €38,510, up 5.9% on the previous year.
Other regions grow faster
Murcia leads Spain’s regions with growth of 3.8%, followed by Extremadura at 3.2%. Cantabria has the slowest growth, at 1.7%. Even so, every Spanish territory outpaces the European Union’s 1.4% rate.
Above Spain’s average per person
The Balearic figure of €38,510 per person stands above Spain’s average of €34,237, but below the European Union’s €41,700. Madrid records the highest figure in Spain, at €47,220 per person. These are figures for the Balearic Islands as a whole, not a separate measure for Mallorca.
