Mallorca is part of Spain’s Balearic Islands, where 26,900 more people are in work in the third quarter than in the previous one. Across the islands, the number of unemployed people falls by 9,900. Spain’s National Statistics Institute published the figures on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, in its Labour Force Survey (EPA).

Employment in the Balearic Islands rises by 3.94%, while unemployment falls by 22.37%. At 4.63%, the islands have the lowest unemployment rate of any Spanish region.

The picture elsewhere is mixed. The Canary Islands have 38,100 more people in work than in the previous quarter. But unemployment rises across most Spanish regions, including by 31,000 in the Valencia region and 21,200 in the Madrid region.
