Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands hold €2,033 million in individual pension plans at the end of 2025, up 5.3% in a year. But the average plan member has €11,377 saved, below Spain’s average of €13,312. A report by Observatorio Inverco counts 178,694 plan members across the islands.

The average amount per member in the Balearics rose 4.2% from the previous year. Membership also grew. The islands were one of only three Spanish regions to record an increase in 2025, alongside Cantabria and the Basque Country. Across Spain, the number of member accounts fell 1% to 7.24 million.

In the Balearics, 84.6% of the money is in plans that mix investments or include shares. Plans invested entirely in shares account for 18.2%.

Across Spain, individual pension plan savings reached €96,331 million at the end of 2025, up 4.4%. The report links the national rise to gains in financial markets.
