Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands’ ports together record 1.96 million cruise passengers from January to September 2026, down 7.2% on the same period last year. They arrive on 640 ships, 2.4% fewer than before, according to figures published on Monday by Spain’s state port authority, Puertos del Estado. September alone brings 327,484 cruise passengers aboard 121 ships.

Counting passengers on scheduled ferry services too, the islands’ ports handle 7.9 million passengers over the nine months, down 3.9% from 2025. The cruise figures give no breakdown for Mallorca alone.

Across Spain, cruise passenger numbers move the other way, rising 2% to 10.5 million. Balearic ports also handle less freight overall: 16.5 million tonnes, down 1.4%. Freight carried in containers bucks that decline, rising 4.8% to 240,602 tonnes.
