Balearic public contracts reach 118 million euros
In the Balearic Islands, 203 firms share public contracts worth 118 million euros from July to September 2026. The work is split across 407 awards, averaging 290,000 euros each. The figures come from a study by a subsidiary of Cesce, released by the platform on Friday, 30 October.
A small share of Spain’s contracts
The Balearic Islands account for 1.2 per cent of the value of public contracts awarded across Spain. Madrid and Catalonia together take 62 per cent. Only Extremadura, Cantabria, Navarre, La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla receive less by value.
Construction leads nationally, with 3,300 million euros in awards. It tops the figures in 16 of Spain’s 19 autonomous communities and cities.
Big firms take most of the money
Across Spain, large companies receive 68.5 per cent of the value awarded, or 6,941 million euros. Small and medium-sized firms receive the remaining 31.5 per cent.
The number of contracts tells a different story. Firms with revenue below five million euros win 53 per cent of awards: 16,342 contracts worth an average of 121,600 euros each. For firms with revenue above 500 million euros, the average award is 1.2 million euros.
