Balearic shops shift December Sunday opening to 12th

Shops across the Balearic Islands are set to open on Sunday 12 December 2027 rather than Sunday 26 December. Trade associations have changed their proposed calendar for authorised Sunday and public-holiday trading.
The switch leaves every other date in the business groups’ 2027 proposal unchanged. The associations say they moved the December opening after a request from trade unions, aiming for a deal backed widely across the retail sector.
The proposal will now go to the unions and the responsible authorities before it can be added to the final 2027 trading calendar. Afedeco, Pimeco, Ascome, Pime Menorca, Pimef, Asodib, Acaib and Anged reached the joint position.
