Since the programme began in 2020, it has supported 541 people across Spain, including 16 in the Balearic Islands. It aims to help people with disabilities gain skills for in-demand digital roles and narrow the gender digital divide.

Digital training covered by the grants

The funding supports specialist courses offered by educational centres across Spain. Eligible subjects include cyber security, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data analysis, cloud computing, robotics, the Internet of Things, and app and website development.

Master's and postgraduate courses in computer engineering, electronics and telecommunications can also qualify. Other covered areas include blockchain, virtual and augmented reality, video-game design, user experience, digital marketing, multimedia design, animation, drones, medical biotechnology and digital fashion.

Courses receiving funding must contain at least 70 per cent technological or digital content. The programme also supports official technology certifications and preparation for civil-service examinations linked to digital profiles.

Catalonia received 17 of the 72 scholarships granted in the first half of 2026, followed by the Community of Madrid with 15. Andalusia received nine awards, the Valencian Community seven and Galicia six.

Aragon received three grants, while the Canary Islands, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country and the Principality of Asturias each received two. Since 2020, the Community of Madrid has led the overall total with 128 awards, ahead of Catalonia on 100 and Andalusia on 89.
