Mallorca: Balearics rank fifth for quality of life
Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands rank fifth among Spain’s autonomous communities for quality of life in 2025. The islands score 103.54 points, above the national average of 101.74. Spain’s National Statistics Institute published the figures on Friday in its Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator.
The Balearic score is up 0.41 points on 2024. Work and health stand out compared with other Spanish regions, and both are above the national average. Material living conditions, leisure and social relationships, governance and basic rights, and overall experience of life also score above that average.
The picture is less favourable for physical and personal safety, education, and surroundings and the environment. In all three areas, the Balearic Islands score below the national average.
