Balearics rental searches: 26% come from abroad
Mallorca's Andratx leads Spain for foreign interest in rental homes, with people from abroad making 60% of searches. Across the Balearics, they accounted for 26% of rental-property searches in the first three months of 2026, led by interest from Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy. The property portal idealista published the figures on 14 September.
The Balearics matched Alicante province for the highest share in the report, ahead of Málaga, where the figure was 24%.
Andratx and Calvià draw strongest foreign interest
Andratx topped idealista's list of 18 Spanish municipalities with the biggest foreign share of rental searches. Calvià, also on Mallorca, came fourth, with 52% of searches made by people from abroad.
Germans were the largest group looking in both towns. In Andratx, British and Swiss searchers followed them; in Calvià, Austrians and Swiss were next.
Palma places third among provincial capitals
Palma ranked third in idealista's comparison of 15 provincial capitals, with foreign searchers behind 20% of rental-home searches. Germany, Argentina and Italy were the leading countries of origin among those looking to rent in the city.
