Banca March profit hits 194.8 million euros on Alba
Banca March reports 194.8 million euros in net profit for the first half of 2026, up 137.8% on a year earlier. The figures, reported from Madrid on 9 October, show a sharp rise driven by exceptional contributions from its stake in Corporación Financiera Alba. Without those contributions, profit from the banking business reaches 81 million euros, up 12%.
Total income rises 47.7% to 385.4 million euros between January and June. Interest income falls 2.5% to 162.4 million euros, but income from services grows 18%, helped by private and business banking.
Avantio, the bank’s digital channel, has 36% more customers than it did in June a year earlier. Customer numbers in personal banking rise 16%. By the end of June, the bank has 10,868.7 million euros in loans, up 9.7%.
Chief executive José Luis Acea says a planned subsidiary in Luxembourg will be central to Banca March’s next stage of international growth.
