132 rooms across 13 floors: Madrid is set to get its first Royal Hideaway hotel in 2028. Barceló Hotel Group will run the five-star property at 27 Calle General Perón under an agreement with Ibervalles Capital Gestión, announced on 4 November 2026.
The plans include a spa, an indoor pool, several places to eat and a rooftop with panoramic views over Madrid. Ibervalles chose Barceló after an international selection process.
Architecture studio BIG, led by Bjarke Ingels, has designed the building. Designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán is responsible for its interiors.
