Palma removes Bellver Park zip line after noise complaints
Palma has removed the zip line, picnic areas and table-tennis tables from Bellver adventure park in Palma, Mallorca, after neighbours complained about late-night parties and noise. The children’s play area will remain, but it cannot currently be used because the other features have been taken away. Palma City Council defended the move on Wednesday, 16 September.
Mercedes Celeste, spokeswoman for the council’s governing team, said neighbours had complained that parties in the area, including in the early hours, disturbed the peace in their homes. They submitted hundreds of signatures, she said, and the council looked for a solution.
Separately, Palma City Council has started a study into whether the petrol station on Avenidas in Palma can continue operating. Celeste said the long and complex review was nearing its final stage, with a yes-or-no decision expected in a few days before the council takes the appropriate action.
