Mallorca council cars: Bestard complaint sparks PP-Vox row
Mallorca council cars put Pedro Bestard in the spotlight: prosecutors have filed a complaint against the Mallorca Island Council’s second vice-president over his use of official vehicles. In Palma, Mallorca, on Monday, 2 November, PSIB leader Francina Armengol said his use of the cars was further evidence of “collusion” between PP and Vox. The complaint concerns possible embezzlement, abuse of office and falsification of documents.
Armengol accused Bestard of using a public vehicle for private purposes. She said people handling public money had to be honest and transparent — and act that way.
She also pointed to Mallorca Island Council president Llorenç Galmés, who had been asked to dismiss Bestard. He has not done so. Armengol said that failure added to her case against PP and Vox.
