Mallorca Bit Foundation tenders over €217,000 web overhaul

The Bit Foundation in Palma, Mallorca, has launched a tender worth more than €217,000 to replace its separate websites with one shared portal. Published on Thursday, the contract covers the new site’s design, development, launch and maintenance. It will bring together online information from the Bit Foundation, ParcBit, the Emprenbit incubator and the CentreBit sites on Eivissa and Menorca.

The Balearic Department of Economy, Finance and Innovation said the current web presence grew out of a 2012 merger involving Fundación iBit, Bitel and ParcBit. Running separate portals has meant repeated work and manual management of several platforms.

The replacement will use a multi-site structure: one technical system that hosts several websites. The foundation expects this to cut duplicate content and make internal management easier, while supporting its aim of being a technology reference point for the Balearic Islands.

The portal must meet technical quality and usability standards, work across different screen sizes and be accessible. It will also include artificial intelligence tools and automations intended to simplify management and make the platform more useful for users.

Companies that meet the stated requirements can apply through the public sector procurement platform.
