Bizum at Eroski tills: Mallorca waits for rollout

Shoppers at Eroski food stores in Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, cannot yet pay by Bizum at the till: the new in-person payment option is available at Caprabo in Catalonia instead. Eroski announced on 20 October 2026 that it will extend the service gradually to the rest of its food stores, including those in the Balearic Islands.

There is no start date for Mallorca. The rollout depends on when banks make in-person Bizum available. A shopper’s own bank must also enable the service before they can use it.

Where the option is available, shoppers choose the digital payment method at the till. Eroski says the process for checkout staff does not change. For now, the rollout covers food stores only, not Forum Sport or petrol stations.
