Balearics tax bills bring 188,240 Bizum payments
Balearic Islands taxpayers have made 188,240 payments through Bizum since 21 August 2023, sending €22.2 million in regional and local taxes and debts by 7 August 2026.
The Balearic Islands Tax Agency (ATIB) introduced Bizum as a payment option on 21 August 2023. It recorded 18,298 payments worth €2.6 million in its first months that year.
Use then climbed to 47,211 payments worth €5.9 million in 2024. In 2025, taxpayers made 71,345 payments, totalling €8.2 million.
By 7 August this year, a further 51,386 payments had gone through Bizum, worth €5.4 million.
Economy, Finance and Innovation Minister Antoni Costa said the figures showed people valued simple, quick public services that fit their daily habits. He said the Balearic Government would continue to expand and improve ATIB’s digital services.
