Mallorca: Students from IES Ramón Llull in Palma, Mallorca, ride a city bus blindfolded on Thursday, 15 October. The exercise puts them through the difficulties blind people can face while waiting for a bus, getting on and travelling. The bus picks them up at 11.00 at stop 197 on Calle Norte.

Rehabilitation specialists from the blind people’s organisation ONCE guide the students, who are studying care for people who need support. The exercise marks White Cane Day. Palma Municipal Transport Company (EMT) is working with ONCE on the activity.

ONCE says a white cane helps blind people spot obstacles and move about independently, both indoors and outside. Its rehabilitation service teaches people with sight loss ways to manage everyday activities. EMT received one of ONCE’s Balearic Solidarity Awards in 2026.
