Blocus Mallorca protest: Palma traders get police pledge
Palma, Mallorca: traders are being told police will respond immediately to any incident at a Blocus Mallorca protest planned for Friday. City officials gave that assurance to the trade groups Afedeco and Pimeco at a meeting on Thursday, 29 October.
The council says Palma Local Police remain alert and work with other state security forces to keep the city safe. It has also asked the Spanish government’s delegation in the Balearic Islands to provide the resources needed for the protest.
The meeting brought together deputy mayor for public safety Llorenç Bauzá de Keizer and councillor for trade, restaurants and the self-employed Lupe Ferrer. Pimeco vice-president Paquita Bonnín attended alongside Toni Vilella, representing Afedeco and the CAEB business association.
