16 people intercepted after boat reaches Formentera

Sixteen people of Maghreb origin have been intercepted after arriving by boat at La Mola on Formentera on Tuesday. The arrival prompted an operation by officers from the Guardia Civil post on the island.
The intervention began at 06.17 on Tuesday, according to the Government Delegation. It said the 16 people had reached La Mola by patera, the Spanish term used for this type of boat, before Guardia Civil officers intercepted them.
